Marin Yacht Club Junior Sailing Program
Sail Camp 2007
Every year,
the Marin Yacht Club hosts Sail Camp, a summer camp for kids run by Sailing
Education Adventures, a non-profit group with adult sailing programs. Our club
provides the facility and houses the camp’s fleet of Lasers. In addition, some
of our sailing members take the campers out for a short sail on their boats. At
the end of each basic / intermediate camp session, the Junior Sailing Committee
hosts a graduation ceremony and barbeque to give the kids positive feedback for
their accomplishments.
For 2007, we plan to have
three Sail Camp offerings throughout the summer. They are: Mini Sail Camp for
ages 9 and 10, Basic and Intermediate Sail Camp for ages 11 through 16, and
Advanced Sail Camp for experienced kids ages 11 through 16.

At the
annual Open House, the parents of prospective campers can visit the docks,
check out the boats and meet the camp staff. Counselors will be giving boat rides
in the camp’s Lasers, located near A dock. We have a
barbeque lunch available giving families a chance to enjoy the marina.
