America's Cup

America's Cup Updates:

Dear Marin Yacht Club,

I’d like to let you and your members know about an upcoming program The Commonwealth Club is hosting on Wednesday, April 2nd at 6pm with Jimmy Spithill, Oracle Team USA Skipper, Norbert Bajurin, Commodore of the Golden Gate Yacht Club, and Julian Guthrie, Reporter at the San Francisco Chronicle in conversation with Michael Krasny, Host of KQED’s Forum.  In last summer’s 34th America's Cup, San Francisco’s home team, Oracle USA, was down eight-to-one when it pulled off a comeback for the ages, with eight straight wins against Emirates Team New Zealand. They’ll talk about the danger and drama of sailing these ultra-fast, aerodynamically designed 72-foot catamarans.  Guthrie’s book, The Billionaire and the Mechanic, tells the incredible story of how a car mechanic and one of the world's richest men teamed up to win the world's greatest race – twice!

We’d love it if you could help us spread the word!

It’d be great if you could invite your community and share our event details with those who you think may be interested. If you’ve got a blog, twitter or e-newsletter, we’d appreciate a shout-out there as well!
