Visitors / PICYA

Marin Yacht Club welcomes members of reciprocating yacht clubs, and members of the PICYA.  Join us on Friday or Sunday evenings in the bar or for dinner.

We allow temporary berthing for our guests and for them we have a few side ties, however if reciprocating Club cruise-ins are planned, they should be arranged by contacting the club's general manager or harbormaster in advance. In these cases we are able to arrange more slips available.

If you are a member of a reciprocating club, you are invited to drop in for our Friday Night Dinners or Sunday Drunches or for other events.  Please email or call the office in advance for reservations.  You will need to provide your name, yacht club affiliation, date/time of your visit, and number in your party.  We look forward to seeing you at MYC.

Most Marin Yacht Club members now receive notices from the Club by email, and you can too by contacting the club. We use this list to notify our members of last-minute events and changes, work parties, late cruise information, and many other useful information.

Call to Arms

PICYA held its first dinner meeting at Oakland Yacht Club off with over 50 delegates and officers attending.  One of the major issues discussed was the Proposed Statewide Coastal Marina Permit being considered by the California State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) is requiring a permit for all marinas with 10 slips or more to obtain a Coastal Marina Permit and comply with many new requirements including extensive testing and reporting at a projected annual cost of hundreds of thousands of dollars.  Does this mean Marine Yacht Club?  Yes, we think so.  We need to all become familiar with the provisions of this proposal and communicate with the state before they vote on the measure in November of 2010.  Workshops will be held by the state board in March and public comments will be taken in April.
